A Balanced May

As we draw a close to the school semester, it’s been a packed May of work and school activities. At times, it was non-stop action the moment I stepped into office till end of school day. There’s always an email to reply, a matter to attend to, an assignment to mark, a student to praise/ SCOLD. 有工作做是好的.
We are also constantly trying to make sense of what we are doing for the students so that we don’t get lost in the flurry of activities and do things for the sake of doing. It’s a delicate balance to find sufficient meaningful activities vs overdoing things.
As with each end of a semester, we say goodbye to friends who leave AHS, and also welcome new friends into the family.

In the midst of these busy-ness at work, we also set aside time for a life outside of work. Whether it’s to keep yourself active through sports or to enjoy a cup of latte (or beer!),
We make time for things we deem important.
I am thankful that I could have me-time to pursue new hobbies and also have some time to read and reflect.

Finally, balance is achieved when we set aside time for family. I cannot emphasise enough of this. Family time is important for everyone’s well-being when it is done
Regularly,
Purposefully,
Willingly.
As we all get busier and busier with our schedules, I find that sometimes I DEMAND for family time from the kids. It takes time and effort from everyone in the family to make this work.
We make time for things we deem important.
Do you?

May we find wisdom in God to seek the balance of making time for all things we deem important.
