Can’t believe that we have reached the end of January of 2025 already. Feels like we just started school a while ago and now we are already celebrating CNY and ending the first month of 2025.

In 2024, I did thanksgiving posts at the end of each week. It also got me reflecting about the meaning of giving thanks.

Thanksgiving is an acknowledgement that God is higher than us.

When we thank God for His provision (food we eat, weather we experience, bringing us through the week, etc), we are acknowledging that God is the higher being and He is in control of everything.

Thanksgiving is a form of surrender.

When we give thanks for whatever God provides for us, we are also surrendering ALL OUTCOMES to Him, whatever it may be.

Thanksgiving without a sense of surrender is not real Thanksgiving and is just paying lip service.

So the next time you say Thank God for _____, reflect also on what you are surrendering to God and really mean it.

So in the month of January….

Thank God for our eldest who just received his Os results.

Thank God for meetings with old friends which is something I resolve to do in 2025.

Thank God for family… and I’ll never grow tired of thanking God for them.

And I surrender all to God 🙏
